The Church Clock

The clock in the Church Tower is notable because it doesn’t have a face and merely strikes the hours on the big bell. It was given by a farmer church warden who wanted the men in the fields to hear the passing hours but said that if people wanted to know the minutes they could look at their own clocks!
You can read a more in depth account about the history of St Bartholomew’s Church in the Kelly’s and Whites Directories.
